As the My Takeda Intranet Lead working on the Digital and DevOps team, you will drive the design and execution of Takeda's award-winning modern intranet on Office 365. You are empowered to influence and lead enterprise digital teams, IT leadership, and business partners to maximize the use of this scalable enterprise service. A typical day will include:

POSITION OBJECTIVES:

  • Lead the design and delivery of the My Takeda Intranet built on Office 365 including Home Sites, Global Navigation, Viva Topics, Viva Connections, and domain-specific employee experience portals for topics such as help, people-finding, locations, etc.
  • Manage key relationships with business stakeholders in HR, Global Corporate Affairs,  our Champions Network and IT to surface and deliver on business opportunities and outcomes.
  • Use your extensive background in modern SharePoint to lead the development of multiple product strategies, long-term roadmaps and drive the product priority-setting of capabilities and features in response to business needs.
  • Proactively monitor and maintain product-related end-to-end customer/business experiences and influence relevant stakeholders to support and deliver successful product releases. 
  • Prioritize the backlog and investments to optimize time savings and employee satisfaction across the enterprise to maximize ROI.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Engage and align with business stakeholders and IT on current business plans, strategies, and future opportunities and developments, providing product recommendations to build a pipeline of meaningful releases.
  • Manage and influence key stakeholders across business and technology, to develop and convey product vision. 
  • Ensure and drive the development of a product vision, strategy and roadmap in light of key stakeholders’ capability and features needs.
  • Maintain- and serve as the communicator- of the product vision.
  • Use broad knowledge of IT, new and established technology developments, and consultation with key players to enhance products, define products, develop prototypes, and develop a roadmap for ongoing and new product developments. 
  • Lead and guide the development of products by using persuasion and negotiating skills to reach an agreement on approach, development, and implementation.
  • Lead and manage the Product Life Cycle(s) for the business, by translating potential pipeline products to an agile development project, work closely with development teams to create new business product releases focusing on additional and/or new functionality, product simplification, and increase transparency.
  • Drive the product planning fitting in long-term roadmaps and aligned with short-term release plans.  
  • Drive prioritization of the product backlog to keep agile teams unblocked and aligned.
  • Participate and lead the gathering of research to identify articulated and non-articulated product needs.
  • Closely monitor product portfolios and business composition, gather relevant data (especially in product direction/roadmap from Microsoft) to continuously gain new insight and adjust roadmaps.
  • Manage and take responsibility for the sustainability of the end-to-end customer experience of products developed.
  • Estimate approximate workload requirements and timeline predictions for several to many professionals and continuously monitor and prioritize product developments and workflow and capacity to deliver the most value to users.
  • Communicate issues and successes up and down in project groups, IT, and the business. 
  • Oversee and manage product budgets established in consultation with stakeholders by balancing resources, vision development, and prototyping. Sustain product teams to deliver and maintain the product. 
  • Continually monitor and refine the product and lead and influence the performing service management and expert opportunities to optimize the user experiences.
  • Lead testing processes to ensure product quality
  • Lead organizational change management (OCM) and documentation about products to ensure business readiness for product releases/evolution.

CORE ELEMENTS RELATED TO THIS ROLE:

  • Strategic Planning and Thinking - Develops product strategies, vision, and roadmaps that align with the product line, architecture, and technology direction and are consistent with enterprise priorities.
  • Act as service owner and business partner responsible for the delivery of My Takeda which is used by every Takeda employee and contractor to navigate to content and applications
  • Deep technical understanding of modern SharePoint platforms and development including but not limited to SharePoint framework and Microsoft Azure.  Can act as a power user of the platform and can demo, evangelize and drive product direction.
  • Responsible for continuous service improvement, contracts, and financials of running the service
  • More than 10 years experience in SharePoint with at least 3 years experience in modern experiences in Office 365

Technical/Functional (Line) Expertise

  • Product owner responsible for Takeda’s Digital Workplace in Office 365
  • Experience leading or designing the largest intranet experiences
  • Understands the language the product teams use to conduct the business of the team and is conversant with the tools and techniques required to communicate with and send work to a team.
  • Ability to operate within — the domains of any core technologies that the product requires to deliver capabilities (artificial intelligence or machine learning, for example) if required
  • Is effective in business language to technical language as needed to bridge the gap between business and technical professionals engaged in the full product value stream
  • Understands the business processes supported by the product and is able to communicate with the relevant stakeholders.

Leadership

  • Collaborate effectively with Product Engineers, Product Designers on an Ecosystem of Products, Platforms, Analytics, and Microservices to give Takeda a modern footprint. 

Decision-making and Autonomy

  • Ability to evaluate and recommend the right technology platforms and software products to solve business problems.
  • Prioritize between new capabilities and reduction of technical debt to deliver incredible experiences for the business within budget constraints

  • Embeds with product teams as needed to ensure full transparency and no surprises, keeping product stakeholders up to date with the latest on delivery status, product risks and scope changes.
  • Reconciles perspectives on product strategy and priorities into a consensus that all stakeholders can support

Innovation

  • Stay on top of new trends in the industry and understand how these new technologies may be applied to the product roadmap.

Complexity

  • Is effective at conveying the product vision and other messages requiring action, in a way that brings people on board with the vision and builds their enthusiasm about fulfilling it

EDUCATION, BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES, AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent 
  • 10 years or more of relevant professional experience with SharePoint.  
  • Experience as a senior product owner or digital lead designing intranet experiences
  • 6 years of more experience leading IT projects in SCRUM / Lean / Kanban methodology
  • Must have not only good ideas but a proven track record of getting things done in complex organizations
  • Understanding and experience with the capabilities of SharePoint Framework
    Preferred: 
  • Understand and experience with PowerBI and SSAS to create dashboards and KPIs to monitor user behavior
  • Experience with data-driven product design using telemetry to drive product decisions
  • Focus on continuous improvement and experience with change management and internal communications
  • Ability to influence
  • Professional in-depth knowledge of product management in the pharmaceutical industry. 
  • Experience in stakeholder relationship management. Influential in orchestrating key stakeholders and product teams to turn product vision into reality. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, business acumen, and enterprise knowledge.
  • Understand design thinking and can explain and convince stakeholders.
  • Work with virtual/agile teams in different locations, aligning and adapting different work, culture, and communication styles. 
  • Extensive Internet Project management experience. 
  • Familiarity working in a lean and agile software delivery team is preferred. 
  • Is an accomplished practitioner of design thinking, with a proven track record of developing and exploiting deep customer insights.
  • Experience with the design and development of pharmaceutical life science products.
  • Able to think out of the box and convince stakeholders.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Access to transportation to attend meetings.
  • Ability to fly to meetings regionally and globally <10%
