As a Scientist II working on the Chemistry team, you will be empowered to apply emerging therapeutic modalities, such as small molecule RNA modulation and targeted protein degradation toward the development of medicines for oncology, neuroscience, GI, and rare diseases.
POSITION OBJECTIVES:
- We are seeking a creative and highly motivated medicinal chemist, with 3-5 years of relevant industry experience, to help us enhance our capabilities and expertise in the application of emerging therapeutic modalities, such as small molecule RNA modulation and targeted protein degradation, toward the development of medicines for oncology, neuroscience, GI, and rare diseases.
- Strong laboratory-based focus and experimental excellence is required for this position.
- Candidate will be expected to interact and collaborate with scientists throughout the Takeda research organization, as well as external partners.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Design, synthesize, and characterize biologically active molecules with suitable drug-like properties, with a focus on emerging therapeutic modalities, such as RNA modulation and targeted protein degradation.
- Act as key member of a multidisciplinary drug discovery project team, taking a leading role in the development of project strategy, and analysis and communication of complex data.
- Work with chemistry leadership to define and implement strategies to enhance our capabilities in emerging therapeutic modalities, and apply them across the Takeda research organization.
- Interface and collaborate with a diverse array of scientists within and outside of Takeda.
EDUCATION, BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
- PhD. in organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, or related discipline, with 3-5 years of industrial experience in medicinal chemistry
