As a Laboratory Assistant working within the Comparative Medicine department, you will be empowered to conduct all animal husbandry related services, and a typical day will include:
POSITION OBJECTIVES:
- Performs animal husbandry services including but not limited to feed/water checks, clinical observation, cage changing, and animal care on the weekends.
- General animal facility cleanliness and maintenance of holding, procedure, and support rooms.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Hands-on laboratory animal husbandry and basic animal technical skills
- Record clear and concise animal census and health data
- Maintain clean vivarium (sweep/mop, emptying trash, wiping down rooms and equipment)
EDUCATION, BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
- High school diploma with 4+ years experience, or AA
